Stanley and the Nut

Headed West from Burnie the roads are pretty quiet and not as windy as they were in the South West.
This is the Nut, there is a chairlift that goes up one side but we are too early in the season.
Cute houses. Most houses do seem small in Tassie. I guess because of the cost of materials and heating as well.
We took a scenic drive and found an Historic House that had been restored.
This was how it was when the Tassie Government bought the property which included the house, outbuildings and five acres.
They have done a brilliant job I think.

This is the view from the front of the house. The weather was pretty good today, still cool but not bitingly cold.

Drove back and had lunch at Devonport/Labrobe, I wanted Subway and Labrobe was the closest but the towns are very close together, only seven kms between them. warren wanted to see a museum, Jospeh Lyons but all we could locate (or GPS) was the Aussie Axemen Hall of Fame so we went there, very interesting.
