Quite a distance between Port Carlisle and Carlisle. Supposed to be the same distance for these two days but our accommodation was actually 2 mile short of Burgh on Sands and so yesterdays hike was 10.8kmns and today we clocked up 15.8kms.
We were driven in to Burgh on Sands for dinner at the pub last night. Warren had a chicken curry with half rice and half chips. I had mushroom soup and some fried brie, then we shared a chocolate pudding, £28 altogether.
Lots of flowers and trees in blossom.
Today as well as the extra distance we had to contend with Steps! The first lot of about 35 were quite high and I adopted the dot and carry, too high to go up one pace at a time.

Beatiful and impressive buildings that seem to crop up around corners and out of the blue.
