We visited John Flynn's graves on the way to Simpson's gap. John Flynn started his career as a teacher then went into the ministry. He started the Royal Flying Doctors Service in the Northern Territory.
His face is on the Australian twenty dollar note.
The original stone on his grave site was from a Stone from the Devils Marbles. The tribe from that area wanted it returned to its rightful place and so after much discussion, another stone was brought in and the two were swapped over and Devils marbles stone went home, this was in 1999. Not as easy feat as I would think that each stone would weigh about a ton or more.
