Ross River Homestead

After dropping Sheri at the airport, we ventured out to Ross River, Warren had not been there in about 34 years after visiting a few times in his school years.

Two fellows cachers were there ordering lunch just before us which was fortunate as I didnt realise that there would be no service out there. While lunch was cooking we went to look at a certain piece of machinery out the front, found just as they called us for lunch.

One of the guys used to be a ranger at Trephina Gorge not far down the track. He now lives at Mt Gambier and of course we told them that we were from Naracoorte/Locarbor and Mundulla, one and two hours north of Mt Gambier.

His grandmother had relatives in my area and they were our neighbors when I was growing up. It was interesting to talk to some one who knew people that we did.

After lunch Warren wanted to show me where he was bucked off a horse fifty years and just how it was.

This is the homestead as it is today.
