Border crossing was very painless, there was a bit of a wait but then it was just hand over our passports, couple of questions and we were through.
Stayed the night near the ferry and went across to Vancouver Island in the morning, stopping for home made crab quiche followed by apple crumble, yum.
The scenery from Victoria was stunning and we did a couple of stops at rest areas.
