School's over for two weeks, (two and a half for me as I only work part time) and today was spent getting ready to go away. Which meant cleaning the house doing all the washing clearing out the fridge and all those other little things that get left by the way side.
Just finished the vacuuming, (don't usually do it at night but I didn't want to do the whole house at one go).
Now I just need to pack! Always a problem, what to take, what to leave behind. I have to keep reminding myself that it is only for a week. I have one small bag that is all I take these days, for ease of travel and also to keep to a limit, size wise as well as weight. After all, no matter where or how you travel, there does become some point when that bag has to be picked up, could be up or down stairs (my absolute favourite, NOT) into a rack above one's head or just onto a travelator. Very good to remember then to KISS (keep it simple, stupid)
When we travel at home, we usually say "Well, if we really need it, we can buy it." My issue today/tonight is what is the weather going to be like, hot warm or do i need warmer clothes. I have never yet, came home and worn every thing that I have packed.
I know that I am procrastinating so I need to go and make a start. No internet for a week, so no emails, no blogging, no games, how will we cope? Have to catch up on the blogging when we return hopefully I will have lots to write about.

Christmas Eve
Why is it that it is instilled in us (or me anyway) that the house needs to be readied for Christmas? This morning I thought to myself I should refresh the sheets on our bed (for Christmas). It was not even the day that I usually wash on but I started the washing machine anyway. Then I decided that the floor of the bathroom should be washed so took everything out and swept and washed the floor.
Ended up washing all the floors in the house, ready for Christmas!
We are not even having anyone here for Christmas or maybe it was that nothing else was happening. I went to the library yesterday and the post Office (No, not sending anything for Christmas but a birthday present for next week)
I only had one gift to wrap for tomorrow which I did buy yesterday although I had known what I was going to get Warren for his birthday. We had said that our trip to HK next year would be our Christmas present but then he suggested that we should buy each other something.
Anyway the house is all ready for Christmas even though we are going out for lunch.
Merry Christmas and stay safe.

Returning home
Sometimes the things that one has too do after returning, one wonders if its really worth going away. Unpacked this morning, it was quite late when we got home and ended up doing the washing, three loads as it was nice and sunny, supposed to be showers tomorrow. Its funny but I really don't like washing on Sundays and hardly ever do it.
After the few days in Melbourne doing very little, we had a fruitful day. Three loads of washing, hung out, dried, folded ready to be put away. Shopped for meat, probably won't need any meat for a couple of months, broke it all up and froze it. Dont think I could fit any more in.
Starting to get things ready for our first trip out in the caravan, I know it will be easier but at first we are starting with a blank canvas.
