My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2

Warren and I went and saw this movie last week in the oldest outdoor picture theatre in the southern hemisphere. How cool is that?

It is called Sun pictures and was built around 1913, I know I read it but cant remember the exact year.

This was a photo that I took in day light as the movie only operate after dark. There are two each night, one at 6.15 pm and the other starts at 8.30 pm.

The entrance is just to the left in the photo and its like going into a big shed. There is a box office and one girl operating that, its all cash so if one has no cash an ATM is a short walk from there.

There is also a drinks and lollies bar, didnt see popcorn but then wasn't looking for it.

The seating is all deck chairs, the kind that are in pictures of English seasides and its a skill to get out of them afterwards.

There were a few ads for businesses around Broome and then the movie started. It wasnt the best movie that I have seen, preferred the first one but there were elements that were funny and some tragic.

The first eight rows are under the stars, we could see the moon above the screen and the last eight are under cover, I think about 280 seats altogether.

Good Dinosoar

Ended up five of us went to the movies. Two to The 5th watch?, grampy, Lindsay (4yo) and I saw the dinasoar. It was quite long for a kids movie. Had to laugh at them eating fermenting plums and how they got drunk with a hang over the next morning.

Movies tickets are much more here than at home, we pay $8.30 and it was $12 today for us, even $18 for students.

Focus

Last night we went to see the movie Focus. The last couple of times that we have been, we have seen the shorts for it and it looked interesting. With Will Smith and Margot Robbie how could it go wrong.

The movie is about a con man and his Army of people, very much slight of hand to steal wallets, watches, rings even credit cards that were returned to the people without them even knowing it was gone.

Good story line and just when it seemed to be wrapping up, blam! a big twist in the tail which I certainly didn't see coming. Well worth the trip to see it and even better was we used a movie card that had some credit on it so it didnt cost us anything, bonus! (Yeah, I know we bought the movie card at one stage so it wasn't actually free but not forking over money, it appeared to be free.)

Penguins

Last night we went to see this kids movie. We had been introduced to the four penguins in the Madagascar movies a few years ago and this was just about the penguins.

Of course there were many families with kids and then there was us, two sixty plus old farts asking for tickets to the Penguins.

Warren had bought a movie ticket for $50 to give to some-one for Christmas but on discussion we decided that they probably wouldn't use it and so gifted then some wine instead. I figured they could regift it if it wasn't to their liking. We used the movie gift card last night even buying and ice cream (dessert) and a drink to share and we still have money left.

The young guy at the counter asked us (as he put some seniors cards through the machine) why Penguins? we both replied because they're funny!

It was a good laugh, completely unrealistic (I hope) but just so funny and fast moving, the music score was good as well and there were small clips back to other movies or references which kids wouldnt know but we did.

Warren was chatting to people at tennis today who had been but had taken their grandkids, that was their excuse.

If you want a good laugh go see it, def worth it.
