A group from Red Hats are going to a weekend away next month and the Friday night is Mama Mia night and we are going dressed for the occasion. Looking at the movie and where it is set, we have decided to go dressed in 3/4 white or light coloured pants and a floral shirt in reds and purple of course, topped off (or bottomed off in this case) by painted
shoes. Six of us met on Monday and we had a great time chatting and painting. I have a little more to do on my right one, just to add the purple bling and the 'stamens". We are also dressing in sari's for Saturday nights dinner and entertainment. The theme is Hollywood to dress as favourite actor, we are going as Bollywood actors. Should be a good weekend.

Pre-loved sale
We (our red hat group) had an invitation to attend this and also sell if we wanted to do so. It was advertised as moving on some Red Hat clothing or accessories and maybe replacing, so it was only reds and purples.
I offered to man the stall as it were and a few of our members had things that they either didnt like any more or didn't fit any more. I know that I have bought things just because it was purple but find that I don't wear.

Lots of red and purple and food, noise and chat. I sold a pair of shoes that I had bought in China because I liked them, not because they fitted me, they didn't! Luckily one of our member bought them so hopefully I will still see them occasionally Morning tea was supplied with the entrance fee of $5, I was expecting a cup of coffee and a scone but no, it was a scone, jam and cream, a cup cake, two different slices and a biscuit, oh boy I didn't need lunch!.( I actually didn't need all of that but funnily enough the plate was emptied.)

Trimming an Easter Hat.
It's a little early for Easter but my Red Hats group have our meeting/gathering/get together on the first Tuesday of the month and April being Easter, we are having an Easter hat next week. Usually I leave things to the last minute but surprise surprise, I am ready and it is completely done, who says that you can;t teach an old dog new tricks. A friend gave me a hat, she had picked up three or four cheaply, so I didn't feel at all guilty about adding to it.
This what I started with, first I pulled off the character. I got all my supplies together, had to rummage in my sewing room but eventually found the bits and pieces that I wanted.
With trusty glue gun, I added some red material, this was to help hold the "nest" and the eggs, pegs come in handy to keep it in place while the glue dries.
This is the end result, so I have a trimmed hat for Easter and best of all, it didn't cost me a cent (although, yes, I had spent money on the craft things originally.
