Blunders in Quebec

It was a very cold day in Quebec and our tour bus dropped us in the city after our tour of the city. Cold and windy. It was lunch time and all I wanted was a hot coffee, we had had our maple breakfast earlier.

Walking along the street, there were plenty of places with outdoor seating but for us that was too cold, we wanted to be out of the wind.

Menu outside advertised coffee, we went in and were seated. Ordered coffee and were given a menu. It was in French, we are in Quebec after all. Warren liked the look of a dessert but didn't know how to pronounce it. Spoke to the waiter and asked him the correct pronunciation in French. Waiter looked as said he didn't know as it was Italian,  we were in an Italian restaurant.  Dessert looked and tasted like cheese cake.

Warmed by coffee and a sit inside, we continued on to find a cache. Hum, says its on private property and sleath required, it was only 50 metres away. Off we go heading to the park then the dial changes and is pointing to a building on main road. Makes sense,  yep, there it is.

 Took cache away to sign.

After we went down all those steps to the bottom so we could come up in the elevator or funicular.

Wind is buffeting so we decided to take a taxi back to the hotel. Saw the taxi rank and we only had the hotel key card. Lady driver and we asked her if she could take us there. She seems confused and we thought she didn't know it or maybe she wasn't a taxi. Don't think she used English very much. She was gesturing up the hill and counting. Yes, she was taxi but ....then we realised, we had gone to the front of the queue but the rank was in two parts, she was seven in a row with a bend, the rest were further up. We thanked her and continued up and had a Syrian guy take us,  who apolised for his English but we had a good conversion with him.

It was much warmer at the hotel and no wind.
